The Newfound Plight of the Indie Author

If you know me or are just finding out about me, you know that I have released my first ever eBook this week. It is thrilling, exciting, terrifying, and a million other emotions. I didn't expect one of them to be sadness.

I am probably confusing impatience with sadness. Either way, I want to see my book sale! I have two babies but my writing is my third. When I decided I was going to publish my work I tried not to think too much. I just had to do it. (Nike knows what they are talking about.)

Now that I have done it, I am facing what every other author has ever gone through; what if people don't like my work? What if they don't buy it? What if, what if, what if.

There is nothing I can do but have faith, shameless promote myself, and wait. Oh how I loathe waiting.

In the end, I suppose it is a good thing I didn't think too much because I might not have taken the plunge.

So I am off to write even more! Just keep swimming....

  1. Look you are bringing us all down, why do all of your comments have to be so negative. When you think good thoughts, good things happen.
